The cannabis industry has a PR problem and it has to stop.  Even now, in 2020, with all the techonological advances and omnichannel opportunities that a startup business has at its digital marketing disposal, companies in the nascent canna space do not have access to paid platforms that can make or break pre and post launch branding windows.

How does a growing company compete in an explosive new industry without a robust digital strategy? Platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest are still throwing curveballs to cannabis brands as they hold on to the last bastions of censorship even as prohibition seems to be on it's last legs.

Just like last falll when the California Bureau of Cannabis Control's page stopped showing up in internal search results, Facebook seems to be back in the "shadow banning" game when it comes to censoring cannabis-related pages.  Even official government agencies are as vulnerable as ever as these pages go dark unless you know the direct URL or are otherwise hotlinked.  

Social Profiles Deleted or Shutdown

It's not secret that Instagram profiles are being deleted seemingly at random, even though advertising policies are being followed to the letter. 

To protect their profile and all the resources expended to create and maintainsuch a robuts profile, companies like Matrix have gone so far as to create a page outlining their strict adherence to the whims of social media guidelines

 Will my account be reinstated after a certain period of time automatically or will I have to petition to have that happen?  The posts I have been trying to boost involve only advocacy so I don't understand why they are continually being disapproved and my account now disabled.
